Character Chronicle
Cybershanty
Captain of the Riftstalker
The cursed Rift pirate who brought the western waters, the Riftwake, and an entire crew of Reginalds into Atherian history.
The Fourth Arrival
Cybershanty did not reach Athera by road or Nether gate. The Riftstalker crossed through a fracture in the western sea with drowned things caught in its wake. He warned the First Three before asking for shelter and committed his damaged vessel to the defense of a shore that might still have fired upon him.
The first agreement between captain and founders promised no friendship. It promised recorded trade, guarded repairs, honest warnings, and shared work. Trust followed slowly, one returned nail and one midnight watch at a time.
The Axolotl Armada
The Riftstalker’s axolotls are family, officers, navigators, brewers, deckhands, and singers. Every member of the crew carries a version of the name Reginald. Captain Reginald Brine keeps order, Commander Reginald Gill reads impossible currents, and Reggie Azure tends the brewing chambers with a worrying relationship to explosions.
Dozens more Reginalds form the Coral Choir. Their voices travel through water-filled chambers in the hull, steadying the ship and helping fractured currents remember their proper shape.
Keeper of the Riftwake
Cybershanty charts the Riftwake, marks dimensional pressure, and sends bottled warnings ahead of his return. Clear light means trade. Blue means weather. Violet means a fracture. Red means the warning probably arrived too late.
He remains most at home on the moving deck, but the Atherian harbor records every departure and expected return. Beetus refused to let even a pirate vanish without leaving behind a road home.
“Protect life. Trade fairly. Sing the storms to sleep.”
